Who can refer to Word Waves?

I accept referrals from parents/carers or other healthcare/education professionals. Please fill out the contact form on this website or email wordwaves.slt@gmail.com and I will be in touch to arrange your appointment.

What age range do you cover?

I work with children/young people aged 2-18

Where does assessment/intervention take place?

Initial assessments will take place either at home or in setting. If the appointment occurs in setting, you will also receive a telephone call to take a case history.

What location do you cover?

Due to my NHS work, I am required to work outside of the Humber and East Riding catchment area both geographically and virtually. I am happy to take clients on virtually outsdide of the areas below.

Home visits can be completed in and around:

• Barton Upon Humber

• South Ferriby

• Winterton

• Broughton

• Wressle

• Scunthorpe

• Barrow Upon Humber

• Goxhill

• Burnham

• Wooten

• Ulceby

• Immingham 

• Grimsby

How many sessions will my child need?

Every child is different and therefore every child’s needs are unique.

After assessment I will recommend either a therapy block or modelling sessions based on the needs and targets of your child and those supporting them.

Following this, you are welcome to continue working towards targets at home/in setting before a review* or continue with therapy sessions / one off check-ins.

*Reviews occur at least 4 months after the previous review/assessment has taken place.

What is your availability?

I have appointments available on Friday's and Saturday's

How do I pay for sessions?

Payment is made by bank transfer either on or before the day of your appointment.

To cancel an appointment, please contact Rachel with 24 hours notice otherwise appointment charges will still apply as this appointment cannot be offered to another client.

Payment for reports are due on the day you receive your copy.
